Vacation Bible School 2024

We’re so excited you’re interested in your child(ren) being with us as we adventure To Mars and Beyond! We’ll learn all about where God’s power can take us as we explore Bible stories of Daniel, the Good Samaritan, more! 

Vacation Bible School will be Monday-Thursday August 5-8 for children 4-9 years of age, from 9:00am-12:00pm, at Ojai United Methodist Church, located at 120 Church Rd. 

Please arrive by 8:45 on Monday to check your child in at the table on the patio. Your child(ren) will receive their nametag and crew assignment. 

Our mission project for the week is collecting school supplies for our backpack drive, these supplies will be given out at the Clothing Closet event later in August. There is a different focus for each day: 
      Monday: Paper – Loose leaf wide rule, graph, printer, construction
      Tuesday: Writing – Pens, pencils, erasers, hilighters, pencil cases
      Wednesday: Art – Crayons, markers, colored pencils, watercolors
      Thursday: Storage – Backpacks, binders, folders, and miscellaneous items

What to Expect

– You’ll need to sign your Adventurer in AND out each day. You may approve additional individuals for pick-up in person at any time during the week. Check in will be at a table outside the sanctuary each day.

– Children will be picked up in the sanctuary each day at the conclusion of the Closing Assembly time. Please plan to drop your child off no earlier than 8:45, and pick up at 12:00, no later than 12:15. Extended day care will not be available.

– Remember the sunscreen! We’ll spend some time outside each day if possible.

– Snacks will be provided each day, and special attention will be paid to allergies and other dietary restrictions. If your child has dietary needs not noted in their registration, please let a VBS leader know at check-in on Monday. 

– Water will be available during each activity. Please have your Adventurer bring a water bottle, and ensure it is labeled with their name. 

Adventurers will be doing crafts and playing all week. Please dress with this in mind, we will do our best to not get too dirty. Crafts from the week will also be sent home with each Adventurer on Thursday.

Lastly, join us for VBS Sunday, August 9th, at the 10am service of Ojai UMC. We’ll have a special music time and reflection about the weeks activities!
