Nordhoff High School, the only high school in the Ojai Valley, is located directly across the street from the church. In past years, our church has established a strong relationship with the school through various projects, programs, and events. We feel extremely blessed to have such “good neighbors” right across the street!
Ojai UMC also proudly hosts fun and educational activities for our community youth. Depending on the season, you’ll find creative, hard-working youth involved in summer camps, retreats, and other community service projects. We help fund campership scholarships for those youth who may need be in need of financial support and welcome all youth onto our beautiful, spacious outdoor patio to put together food and hygiene boxes during the holidays.
If you have a youth group (or even a children or pre-teen group) whose members hunger for beautiful, high-energy open space to meet and greet, and/or perform activities or projects, give us a call! We fully join in Jesus’s enthusiastic welcome of children when… “[He] called for them and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.‘” (Luke 18:16, NRSV).
